Hypnotherapy for children in Fareham

"I believe the children are our future"

If you have a child or young teenager that is struggling to cope with bullying, depression, anger, behaviour problems, school pressures, puberty or any one of the million and one problems that seem so overwhelming when they are trying to get to grips with the business of growing up then you have come to the right place.

Children and young adults respond particularly well to hypnosis, perhaps it is because they welcome new experiences, they are so open to anything new and a bit different. Having teenage boys myself, I know that sometimes you say to them 'what's wrong' and the best answer you get is 'I dunno' and a shrug of the shoulders. The trouble is they really DON'T know.... or at least they don't know how to express what is wrong, they know that they feel sad, or angry or exhausted but they don't know why, or how to put it into words, and no amount of 'understanding' or sympathising can get them to open up about what is troubling them

The IAH approach to helping with teenage and childrens problems is to offer a chance to find a solution without making them identify what is wrong! - without putting them on the spot or making judgements about their behaviour. We do this by using what we call the Blowaway technique

This therapy is carried out with one or, preferably both, parents present. The most important person in the session is the child/teenager and I will address myself to them at all times with as little reference to the parent(s) as possible - I don't actually NEED to know what the problems are and I want to make that young person feel that I am not going to judge them or moralise to them..... just help them!

After putting 'my client' into a relaxed, hypnotic state I will ask them to imagine strong emotions that they may have experienced for example, anger, fear, loneliness, guilt and feeling that they can never do anything right. As they are imagining those feelings I will encourage them to 'blow' the feelings away. This combination of 'feeling' the emotion and linking it with a real, physical action is an extremely powerful way of discharging any negative emotions that have been holding them back.

The session will end with lots of strong, positive, ego boosting suggestions so that they leave me feeling good about themselves.

If this all sounds a bit simple that is because it IS simple.... but incredibly powerful, a chance to clear away all the old, dark feelings and insecurities.

If you would like to know more about the technique, or you would like to come and see me to reassure yourself that your son or daughter will be in good hands then please call to make an appointment for my free initial consultation.

The Testimonial below is from the mother of a 6 year old boy with Attention Deficit Disorder and hyperactivity - I make no apologies for reproducing this email entirely as it shows what a difference can be made in just one session. "I Just wanted to give you an update on Cameron's progress following your session with him last Tuesday.

Wow - what a difference - I noticed on the way home after the session, he wasn't jigging his legs around like he normally does.

He actually sat down and wrote five sentences on Thursday

He can actually sit and watch TV now ( I know this might sound a bit odd, but he was never able to just sit back and watch TV, he always had to be moving around and playing) he now lays out on the sofa and relaxes

His tutor, who comes once a week to work on his reading and writing came on Sunday, Cameron had been on Cub camp the night before and was really tired, Rachel, the tutor, thought he probably wouldn't be up for much work but was absolutely gobsmacked when he managed to focus on reading for a whole 45 mins.

His ability to break words down to make them easier to read has improved 100% - as a result he finds it much less stressful to sit and read - even though his reading level is low, his new concentration will help him to improve quickly.

He also goes off to sleep within 20 minutes now, it used to take him hours so I'd put him to bed quite early so that he could wind down quietly, he's loving being allowed to stay up later and he always wakes up really refreshed.

I really am impressed - I loved the way you worked with him - even though he was somewhat challenging (to say the least!), I have to say it was a shock to see how fidgety he really was - but was really amazed to see just how imaginitive he can be, his physically reaching into the imaginary chest - really lovely to see.

I am so thrilled with the progress he's made in less than a week - I've given your cards to some of my clients as they are interested hynotherapy too so hopefully they'll contact you soon.

Anyway, my point is - thankyou so much - it was a real pleasure to meet you and I'm so glad Cameron enjoyed the session and has improved so fast and so markedly".

"Show them all the beauty they possess inside - give them a sense of pride"

Take that first step! Together we can get you back in control of your life.
